http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2007/01/19/53-css-techniques-you-couldnt-live-without/

If for some reason (server too busy) you cannot access the above link the story is currently on the front page of the site @ http://www.smashingmagazine.com/

It's great!

Hmm. Either way, I get an error 500 - internal server error page. Hopefully they will fix that.

Ahh, yes. The infamous "Digg effect".

Anyway, I see it now. This is a nice collection - I have come across many of them before. There are some great design ideas here, and I recommend students visit to see what can be done, and how to do it.

A couple of caveats: First, several designs require some JavaScript and/or PHP. Nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking for a pure CSS solution you may be disappointed.

Second, be aware that not all techniques work across all current browsers. (I speak from experience!) Be sure to read the comments accompanying each article.
